Public Square National Call-to-Artists—RFQ #06-26

Total project budget: $350,000

Metro Arts Commission commissioned two artists for two, distinct projects to infuse art into the design and architecture of the new Public Square, a four-acre park adjacent to the Metro Courthouse, which recently underwent major restoration. One of the projects, designed by Raleigh, NC artist Thomas Sayre, will be located at the southern edge of the central grass oval. A second project designed by Tennessee artist Ken Rowe, is comprised of three bronzes that will be creatively placed throughout the site, encouraging visitors to explore the park. Installation is scheduled for late spring 2010.
