Kim Fowler Appointed to Metro Arts Commission

NASHVILLE, TN, June 9, 2008—Kim Fowler been appointed to the Metropolitan Nashville Arts Commission (Metro Arts) by Mayor Karl Dean. Fowler will complete the unexpired term of Ivanetta Davis Samuels.
“I am excited to have Kim Fowler on board as our newest commissioner,” said Norree Boyd, executive director of Metro Arts. “She has a sincere and enthusiastic commitment to the arts in Nashville and our city’s neighborhoods. I think she will be an excellent public steward for the citizens of Davidson County”
Now an independent publicist, Fowler has been a prominent figure in Nashville’s music industry throughout her career. She was director of artist and media relations for Mercury Records from 1990-1997, public relations director of artist and media relations for Rising Tide Records in 1998 and vice president of artist and media relations for Sugar Hill Records from 1999-2007 before establishing her own company, Two Dog Media.
Former commissioner Ivanetta Davis Samuels has been appointed to serve on the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation.
