27 July 2005
Metro Nashville Arts Commission is pleased to announce an online exhibit of the designs proposed by semi-finalist artists selected for the Eastbank Greenway public art project.
The designs proposed by the semi-finalist artists along with accompanying artist statements are posted on Nashville Civic Design Center's website at www.civicdesigncenter.org. The online exhibit coincides with an exhibition of the proposed designs in NCDC at 138 Second Avenue North, Suite 106 in Butler's Run, Nashville, which runs from Tuesday, July 5 through Friday, August 5, 2005. The NCDC is open Monday - Friday from 9:00 am - 5:30 pm.
The selected artist, Alice Aycock, presented her winning design during an Arts News Conference at the Downtown Public Library on July 21. She discussed her previous artworks and the inspiration for and design of her winning submission for Nashville's first "Percent for Public Art" project.
